Supermodel Karlie Kloss and her husband, venture capitalist Joshua Kushner, have bought Rod Stewart’s former Malibu home, the Wave House.

Kloss and Kushner, who is the brother of Jared Kushner, have paid $29.5 million for the midcentury modern estate, which is believed to have inspired the look of the Sydney Opera House, the Wall Street Journal first reported. The mansion originally asked $49.5 million when it was listed for sale last June.

Built in the 1950s by the late architect Harry Gesner, the house has become known as one of California’s most popular residences for its giant wave view. (Gesner actually designed the house while in the water in front of the address, sketching his plans for it from his surfboard.)

Gesner originally built the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion for a local couple who owned a lumberyard. Subsequent owners have included English rock star Rod Stewart and, most recently, record executive Mo Austin, who signed acts such as the Kinks and Jimi Hendrix while running Warner Bros. The data.

Austin passed away in 2022 at the age of 95; his estate handled the sale of Wave House.
