Stunning Miami-area home dressed by late designer Calvin Klein lists for $15.5 million

One of the last residences worn by the late interior designer Lorraine Letendre, whose clients included Calvin Klein, has been listed for $15.5 million.

The apartment is located in the Palazzo del Sol on exclusive Fisher Island, south of Miami Beach. The seller, Peggy Smith, bought the mansion for $8.95 million in 2016 — the same year the 10-story tower, with just 43 residences, was built.

Letendre’s three-story building with a plunge pool in Miami sold for $3.4 million in 2023, Gimme Shelter reported at the time. Letendre died of cancer at the age of 72 in 2022.

Beyond her position, Letendre designed the interiors for Klein’s Hamptons home. She also designed the Los Angeles residence of Hollywood director Michael Bay, the “king of action” known for such films as “Armageddon.”

“Lorraine was incredible beyond just decorating,” Smith said. “Have you ever been in the presence of someone who fits you completely, including looking into your head and seeing who you are, your lifestyle, your family dynamic, your needs? Never hard, but very cool. Her pitches just worked. I chose her because even the most difficult, demanding men liked to live in her spaces.” The end result in Smith’s offering is simply elegant.

The home is 4,956 square feet and comes with four bedrooms and 4 ½ bathrooms.

Done in neutral tones, the flat features a living room, a library and a chef’s kitchen, while a pocket door opens to a study with white oak paneling and an aquarium. Benefits also include a revolving door that opens to a master bedroom with a marble bathroom, double dressing rooms and water views.

A separate wing down a gallery hall leads to three more terraced suites.

Fisher Island is extremely private, with a marina, 18 tennis courts, a golf course, a beach club and seven restaurants.

The listing broker is Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman.
